INTRODUCTION

Contemporary museums advocate and fulfill cultural democracy through various actions. For instance, communities and the general public are encouraged to become involved and engage in partnerships and cooperation with museums, and museums strive to provide the largest degree of open access, unlimited and barrier-free, to their physical and digital collections and resources. Pluralism and decolonizing are some of the most crucial considerations as museums seek to present multiple perspectives of the wider public to empower the people. Another goal is to do away with hindrances to use of museum resources by marginalized and vulnerable populations as a way of promoting equality and social inclusion, as to realize social justice.
The purpose of the conference is to provide a platform for international and interdisciplinary exchange to explore and discuss issues in the fields of museum cultural democracy.
